The reporter that reaches to the fronts from the baskets...

Anyone, who follows the agenda of the world and Turkey is certainly familiar with the name of Mithat Bereket. He has been taking us away to the every part of the world and Turkey with his programmes in the press for 15 years.

Although nowadays he has been reporting us from the studios, Bereket is actually a war correspondent. He would be in the middle of the hottest conflicts in Bosnia Herzegovina, Aleppo, Kosovo, Iraq, Afghanistan, Chechnya or Palestine, trying to inform us about the breaking news.

In fact, his career began in a very different field. Mithat, who was playing basketball as an amateur in the Faculty of Political Science in the Ankara University, later became a professional basketball player. Bereket, who showed the first signs of his fighter soul even then, managed to play in the National Team in a very short time. Mithat, who represented Turkey in many international basketball matches, acquired the energy that he will later use in the fronts to save his life. Mithat, who went to the Lancaster University in England for his master degree, prepared his thesis upon "the Cyprus issue". He still continues his studies upon "the Radical Islam-Fundemantalism" for his doctor's degree in the same university. That means, we will soon call him Dr. Mithat Bereket. In fact, he'd better complete his education immediately because we need the right diagnosises both upon the Cyprus issue and upon the radical religious problems.

He has made interviews with many leaders around the world. He asked questions to these leaders both as a journalist and as a citizen of Turkey. There are many important leaders among them such as; Nelson Mandela, Benazir Butto, Muammer Al Qaddafi, Yasser Arafat, Shamil Basayev, Madeleine Albright, King of Jordan Abdullah, Yitzak Rabin, Simon Peres, Benjamen Netanyahu and Antonia Di Pietro.

Presently, Mithat Bereket prepares and presents two programmes Manşet (Headline), which is broadcasted every weekday at 5:00-6:00 PM on CNN Turk. The second programme is Pusula, a documentary/news programme, which is broadcasted every 15 days. Also, he is on Radio Time with Güçlü Mete with their programme "Güçlü Bakış" in every morning to let us know about the latest developments around the world. As we have stated in the beginning of the article; he is a war correspondent. Once he is in the studio and then he's reporting from the mountains of Afghanistan live. It is the essence of his job. And this essence is completely penetrated into his spirit.
